De Parken district
At the end of the 1800s, when the train line from the west of the Netherlands to Apeldoorn was built, rich retired people and former plantation owners from the Dutch East Indies came to live here. They made their homes near the parks in this area.

This nice neighborhood has four parks where you can walk. The parks have pretty ponds and were made in the English garden style. It is an important and protected area in the city, where it is quiet and peaceful.
