For centuries, Apeldoorn was an important hub for the Hanseatic cities. Why? The guide will explain and also reveal why this Veluwe village underwent a complete transformation at the end of the 19th century into an elegant and prestigious residential area. You can still see shops, houses, and buildings showcasing the architectural styles of that era, including Arts & Crafts and Jugendstil.

The presence of the Dutch Royal Family, the House of Orange-Nassau, also had a great influence on the development of Apeldoorn. With stories, photos, and anecdotes, the guide explains it all to you.
