Duration: ± 1.5 hours
Costs: €5.00 per person. Children from 4 to 12 years €2.00.

The liberation of Apeldoorn almost ended in disaster. The Canadians thought that many German soldiers were still in the city. They wanted to free Apeldoorn by bombing it heavily.
But the Apeldoorn resistance knew that almost all Germans had already left for the west. There was one problem: the resistance could not contact the liberators.

How could the Canadians be told? Two brave men saved Apeldoorn by secretly walking through the front lines to talk to the liberators. And they did it! Apeldoorn was not destroyed.
Walk the same route with our guide and learn what happened on the night before the liberation. Photos help explain the full story.
